The Solterra EV marks the start of something special for Subaru. As the first electric vehicle in the company's lineup, it presents an intriguing choice. This model might be the right option if you've been considering getting an EV. It's capable, rugged, and well-equipped, and it has a reasonable cost, especially considering all its features.
This model's electric powertrain produces 215 horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque, so you can have fun driving around Laconia and Plymouth. With its standard all-wheel-drive capability, the Solterra EV comes prepared for anything. It monitors its performance at all times, and whenever it notices an issue with traction, it will make the necessary adjustments to keep you safely moving in the right direction. If things get tough, engage X-MODE. In this mode, the SUV will be ready to make changes to improve traction and stability when dealing with slippery roads and trails. The Power driving mode can result in a more aggressive SUV, and the Eco mode would do the opposite. Also, this model lets you choose between different regenerative braking levels. If you maximize this feature, the Solterra would slow down considerably when you take your foot off of the accelerator pedal, and it could even come to a stop. In this case, you might be able to drive using one pedal.
Estimated range of the Premium trim is as high as 228 miles. The Limited and Touring, which are the remaining trims in the Solterra lineup at Belknap Subaru, have ranges that fall just shy of that mark at 222 miles. Any trim would let you travel freely around the area and allow you to explore new places. The Subaru will keep you updated about how it's going regarding range. When you're low on battery power, plug in your Solterra at home using a Level 1 or Level 2 charger. With a Level 2 charger, you'll get a full charge overnight. Alternatively, you could use faster public charging stations when you're on long road trips and don't want to stop for too long.
The technology in the cabin can enhance the experience of driving a Solterra. Use the smartphone compatibility to access certain apps and choose from various entertainment options SiriusXM provides. Since this Subaru has standard Wi-Fi capability, you and your passengers can enjoy a fast network connection. The Premium features an eight-inch touchscreen, while the others have 12.3-inch touchscreens with integrated navigation. They also offer Harman Kardon premium sound systems that consist of 11 speakers and 576-watt-equivalent amplifiers.
Any of the Solterras on our lot will take good care of you. These models come with driver-assist technologies that can actively watch for hazards, warn you about potential issues, and help you take corrective measures. They also have dynamic radar cruise control, which allows them to adjust their speed to stay a safe distance away from other vehicles. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic braking are all included in the standard safety package as well.
The Premium, besides having all the above features, will treat you to heated front seats, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, and dual-zone climate control. As we've highlighted, the Limited gets several high-tech upgrades, and it comes with a power rear gate, Digital Key program, and StarTex upholstery. The Touring offers the most advanced elements, which include heated and ventilated front seats and a panoramic glass roof.
