In so many ways, Veterans are an important part of our community. They are driven by purpose, and a desire to serve. They leave their homes, and family's, for faraway places, simply because they give their word to do so. I marvel at the commitment, and the discipline they exemplify by the very act of their service. I am proud to be in their presence.
Far too often when they return they find it difficult to obtain the help and care they have EARNED for their service. I ask you to not stand silent to their needs...I ask that in ways big and small, we band together, and live up to the promises we made, to these heroes in our midst. We all have something we can do to make sure these men and women get their due!
