As the season rolls from Fall, into the Holidays, we are reminded that there are many among us, for whom 2014 has been less than kind. We have to look around and see where we think, we can make a difference. This year we would like to shine the light on some local organizations, that work hard to, spread some joy to folks who have been struggling.
Cash N Cans is spearheaded locally by the folks at Mix 94.1. Fred Caruso, Jeff Levitan, and Amy Bates, and their staff, do a wonderful job of organizing an effort to provide food for those in need. Collection sites across the Lake's Region in participating businesses make it easy to participate, and you can do something that will make a difference...right here! Share the Love is a national event created by Subaru of America. Subaru donates $250 for every car sold during the event, as a way of giving back to our customers, and the organizations they have selected for charitable giving. Here at Belknap Subaru, we participate with 4 national charities, and one excellent local partner. I am hopeful our customers will select Community Bridges for their donation this year. The money will be used right here in the Lake's region, to help families, and people with mental disabilities, and brain injuries. I have never met such a dedicated and giving group of people, your help and donation will be greatly appreciated.
Lastly...we love the folks locally that run Toy's for Tots...there is nothing more sad than the idea of a local child waking up on Christmas morning without something designed to bring a little joy. The Marines and local businesses are doing a great job with this effort, but they sure could use some help!
