From time to time, I get a little down, and a little sad. The news is not good of late. Every day seems to add some new problem or misery. I recognize the world is not a miserable place. In truth the world is what we choose to make it...that is why it's good to sometimes look around, and tell stories about the good in every community. To tell an inspiring story about people you might know...and about some things you might not. This is a good story!
If you live, or play, somewhere in the Lake's Region, you probably have met Jeff Levitan and his wife Jane. They are always smiling, always laughing, and most importantly always involved in helping people. Jeff is the Vice President and General Sales Manager of the Northeast Radio Group, his wife Jane is also in marketing and advertising with Source4. This couple spends a majority of their time helping their clients...and friends, achieve greater success in business. Beyond their professional lives, they are active members of this community.
One of their passions is the annual HK Powersports Land and Lake Poker Run. They both sit on the event board. This annual event, in its 13th year, has raised a considerable amount of money for Easter Seals of New Hampshire. Easter Seals serves families, children, and veterans, with a host of programs, and services, that no one else offers. These two work tirelessly before, during, and after the event to make it something truly special. Held at the Naswa Resort(the Makris family...also an awesome group of people) the event blends water, sunshine, poker, and fun. Jane is one of the emcees and with the assistance of Fred Caruso, Amy Bates and the MIX team they direct the party for an awesome afternoon! You cannot count the hours they put into making party a success!
In the fall Northeast Radio participates in Cash n' Cans. Aimed at raising money to support local food pantries, in a time of the year that should not have any family going with out food. The stations of the company, broadcast from local businesses, so listeners can drop off foods, and donations. Jeff and his team do an outstanding job of raising money and awareness.
These are just a few examples of the good work these two involve themselves in...it is by no means the complete list. Neither Jane or Jeff, do these things for the spotlight, they are very good and humble folks, who believe in giving back to the community they live in. Too often, we read in the paper, hear on the news, or see in social media, news about people that isn't positive or uplifting. I wanted to write this blog to throw some light on people who are making a difference for good!
