As we approach Veteran's Day, it is fitting to give thanks...but more importantly to recognize the amazing work performed by the men and women who serve in our nations Armed Services. They are noble and brave, they are there when disaster strikes, or when tragedy raises its sad face. They put country and service ahead of self and family, and at the end of the day, though they may be far from home...they are never far from our hearts.

On Monday we will pause to give thanks to each one of them...and we will say a special thanks to those who are no longer with us...our own Commander William Johnstone...and one who is just beginning her service in the United States Air Force...soon to be Airmen Kendall Ives!

We all pray for peace...yet it is comforting to know, that we live in a land, that has such amazing people as these!

I leave you with the words of Trace Adkins...

"Say a prayer for peace for every fallen son. Set my spirit free, let me lay down my gun. Sweet Mother Mary, I'm so tired...but I can't come home 'til the last shot's fired!
