Driving to work this morning, I was listening to my favorite radio station. WSCY plays an excellent selection of country hits. I love driving in, on Saturday morning, with my sunroof open, and my radio playing loud. It is the time of the day when hope is alive and the day holds endless possibilities.

This morning they played a song that touched me...the song is about a little boy that loses his grandmother, and he is feeling sad, and the rain starts to fall from the sky. He begins to cry, his mother tells him that there are holes in the floor of Heaven, and his grandmother can see him, the rain is a sign that she misses him too!

It's a simple explanation to comfort the boy at a very sad and difficult time. The song goes on about other losses in his life and the comfort that comes from his mothers simple words.

In life we face the shadow of death each day, we are ever mindful that sometimes the shadow touches our family, and one day it will touch us too.  The song reminds me to be grateful for the time I share with my family and friends, and the hope that one day I will be reunited with those I  have lost..

Sometimes the gifts we cherish the most aren't expensive...but they are precious. Thank you for playing the song!
